We got to go this weekend to visit Six Flags America in Bowie, Maryland. I have to be honest I haven't been to Six Flags America since it was actually known as Adventure World. That's right folks I used to visit when I was little so being able to take the kids to have some fun was great. It was even better when I got to take my mom and nephew with us.
We decided we wanted to get there as early as possible and arrived just 10 minutes before the park opened. We paid the extra $10 for preferred parking and that was a good idea. It meant less walking at the end of the day. When we walked into the park we were immediately greeted by some characters:

After saying hello we headed over towards The Looney Tunes Movie Town. This is the spot for younger kids. All the rides are either specifically designed for smaller kids or designed for smaller kids with a parent. The boys ran to the flying swings while Rachael and I headed to the carousel. I loved being on the carousel and holding Rachael as she got to experience Six Flags America for the first time. From there we HAD to get on the roller coaster. Riding around and around and up and down was great. After you got off you could purchase a photo of yourself on the ride. We chose not to because we all had some pretty goofy looks on.
I think they kids two favorite rides in Looney Tunes Movie Town were the airplanes and Sylvester's Pounce and Bounce:

We caught a show and best of all the kids went back over and rode a few more rides before they decided to get me wet.
YEP they took me and my poor mom on the Renegade Rapids and another water ride and got us utterly and completely soaked. After that there was nothing left to do but hit Hurricane Harbor and use some of the water slides.
After getting into the water park area my mom made me laugh. We had sat on the side of the pool area and watched as the kids played. Meanwhile every little kid other than my own decided I needed attention and entertainment. Child after child came up to talk to us, show us their tricks and how they could swim.
Overall the kids really loved the day and I was enraptured with the idea of taking my kids to an amusement park that I had been to as a child.

This post was written on behalf of US Family Guide and Six Flags America. I will be receiving a 4 pack of tickets for my family to review the park.
